Elaine Bernstein grew up in Center Moriches where her grandparents originally settled in 1907. She graduated Cum Laude in 1968 from Syracuse University with a Bachelors of Science in Special Education and later achieved her Masters of Science in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Kansas.
Elaine taught elementary and secondary special education, worked as a guidance counselor and a special education work study educator for 32 years locally in the Middle Country Central School District. She retired from the education field in June 2002.
This multi-talented Realtor's face will be familiar to many since she is the former part owner of "The Corn Crib", the local farm stand on Montauk Highway in Westhampton which she operated during summer vacations from her teaching career. Additionally, Elaine is the proud mother of two accomplished children, a daughter Janna, 28 and a son Justin, 30.
Elaine is also Past President of the Jewish Center of the Moriches, which coincidentally started in her grandparent's farmhouse decades ago, and is currently very proud to be serving as the 2005-2007 President of the Pioneer Chapter of Hadassah in Westhampton Beach.
Elaine resides in Westhampton with Bruce Phillips, her partner in both life and real estate. |
